Mike Tomlin, Steelers Continue Recent Dominance Over Ravens

Tomlin has owned Baltimore lately

Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers had a lot of history on their side heading into Sunday night’s must-win matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, and it paid off.

The Steelers won again, outlasting the Ravens 26-24 to sweep the season series and win the AFC North in dramatic fashion. Pittsburgh entered the game as a 3.5-point home underdog and trailed for much of the game, but still managed to come back and pull off the upset thanks to Aaron Rodgers’ clutch heroics and some good fortune.

Since 2020, Tomlin is 8-1 outright and against the spread as an underdog against Baltimore, consistently proving the sportsbooks wrong. He’s also 23-17 in his career against John Harbaugh — the most head-to-head wins by one head coach over another in the Super Bowl era.

The Steelers went 2-0 against the Ravens this year, sweeping them for the first time since Ben Roethlisberger’s final season in 2021 and winning their first division title since 2020.

Rodgers is now 5-1 against Baltimore while improving to 9-3 in the regular season in January. Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson was quiet until the fourth quarter and is now 3-7 against Pittsburgh in the regular season.

The Steelers finished the season strong, winning four of their last five games to close out the year. They’ll enter the playoffs with considerable momentum as they prepare to host the Houston Texans on Monday. They’ll also get D.K. Metcalf back from his two-game suspension.

For the second week in a row, Pittsburgh is listed as a 3.5-point home underdog. If anyone can beat those odds, it’s Tomlin.
