Mike McCarthy Reveals Steelers-Themed Christmas Wish

McCarthy has high hopes for Pittsburgh

The holiday season is here and there are only two weeks left in the NFL regular season. At 9-6, the Pittsburgh Steelers are on the verge of clinching the AFC North and a playoff spot.

Coming off three straight wins, the Steelers are peaking at the perfect time and could be poised for a deep postseason run under Mike Tomlin, who has them playing their best football of the season on both sides of the ball.

With the AFC wide open this year, anything could happen in January. Pittsburgh will get to host a playoff game and has a former Super Bowl champion under center in Aaron Rodgers.

Speaking of Rodgers, his former head coach Mike McCarthy had a Steelers-themed Christmas wish on Wednesday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show.”

“I’m wishing for a Pittsburgh Super Bowl. I think it’d be great to see the black and gold,” McCarthy said. “I think it’d be awesome to see this team go on a run.”

The Steelers haven’t been to the Super Bowl since the 2010 season and haven’t won a Super Bowl since the 2008 season. They haven’t won a playoff game since the 2016 season, so that would be a good start.

Pittsburgh is tied with the New England Patriots for most Super Bowl wins in NFL history with six apiece. Both teams have legitimate title hopes this year, so time will tell if either of them goes all the way.
