It’s been over a month since Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers injured his left wrist against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, fracturing it in multiple places. Remarkably, he only missed one game before returning to action in Week 13.
Rodgers has looked no worse for wear over the last few weeks, leading the Steelers to back-to-back wins to kick off December. They’ve been two of his best games of the year, too, featuring his most passing yards of the season in Week 14 and his highest completion rate in Week 15.
While the 42-year-old has managed his injury well and has done a great job playing through it, he admitted on Wednesday that it’s still not fully healed.
“It’s still not 100%. I’m having battles with the training staff — happy battles not knock-down drag-out battles — but trying to feel more normal,” Rodgers told reporters. “So to go through practice like today without anything on my wrist, it’s still not without some pain. With certain movements, I’m trying to get the strength back. All those little muscles that have been unused for a number of weeks. So, it’s a work in progress.”

Rodgers has been wearing a cast or brace for the injury, so practicing without on it Wednesday was a step in the right direction. Barring any unexpected setbacks, he remains on track to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions and is looking to finish the season strong by leading the Steelers to the playoffs.
