Mike Tomlin Provides Promising Update After DK Metcalf’s Health Scare vs. Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers were once again able to get the best of Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, winning 27-22 on the road. The Steelers have now won nine of the twelve meetings with their bitter AFC North rival since 2019.

The celebration was cut short when news of a potential injury to the team’s best wide receiver emerged early Monday morning.

“Steelers standout WR DK Metcalf stayed overnight in Baltimore hotel after going to a local hospital following the game,” NFL Media’s Ian Rapaport said. “Metcalf was experiencing stomach pains on the flight and out of an abundance of caution, team medical personnel sent him to a nearby hospital. He’s flying back to Pittsburgh today.”

DK Metcalf had an explosive performance, hauling in seven catches for 148 yards. He accounted for more than half of the team’s receiving production.

Head coach Mike Tomlin provided a promising update on his star receiver’s health Tuesday.

“I don’t think it’s going to jeopardize his availability at all,” Tomlin said.

Tomlin’s Steelers will need all hands on deck as they get set to host one of the hottest teams in the NFL on “Monday Night Football in the Dolphins. Miami has won four straight games after beginning the season 1-6 and will look to improve its record to 7-7 with a win over the Steelers.
