Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin found himself the subject of some negative scuttlebutt this week.
Tomlin’s contract became the focus of some league insiders, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter noting that the organization would have to make a decision on his option at some point over the coming months in a strategically-timed report on Saturday. Ryan Clark, one of his former players, gave a nuanced take about whether or not he believed the two sides should continue working together. Ben Roethlisberger and James Harrison, some other former players, were less nuanced.
Tomlin got the last laugh on Sunday, though.
The Steelers secured a hard-fought victory over the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium, which produced a subtle message from the club’s head coach — who blew a kiss to the camera’s while walking off the field, as seen in this post from KDKA’s Chilekasi Adele on X.
Tomlin will almost certainly have more to say regarding his future with the franchise, but on the day his team grabbed sole possession of first place in the AFC North, he let his actions do the talking.
