Steelers Pass-Catcher Refutes Strong Aaron Rodgers Claim

'Everyone shows up and everyone contributes'

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn’t appear to be on the same page as his teammates…

Rodgers made comments strongly suggesting that pass-catchers weren’t showing up for film sessions and weren’t running the right routes following Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.

“When there’s film sessions, everyone shows up,” Rodgers said when asked the key to improving offensively, per team-provided video. “When I check to a route, run the right route.”

It’s hard to take that as anything other than a jab at his teammates, one of which disputed the implication that they weren’t doing their part.

“Everyone shows up and everyone contributes in a positive manner,” Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth said. “I think he was just more so talking about being on the same page with signals and stuff. We don’t have an issue with guys not showing up.”

Rodgers, to his credit, backed up that notion.

“What I was talking about what during the week, we have our meetings on Thursdays, and I meant that everybody come there with an open mind and be self-critical, and, you know, work on the things you got to work on, and let’s get better,” Rodgers said. “As far as any off-the-field stuff, I’m not gonna talk about any of that.”

Rodgers reportedly hosted his teammates for a birthday party on Tuesday, which might just be the first step in getting everyone on the same page — both on and off the field.
