Things aren’t exactly going well for the Pittsburgh Steelers currently, as they have lost three of their past four games to lose control of the AFC North division. However, the team received some good news regarding one of its late legends, defensive lineman L.C. Greenwood, and his Hall of Fame candidacy.
Greenwood spent his entire 13-year career with the Steelers, which saw him become one of the most feared defensive linemen in the league. Greenwood earned six Pro Bowl selections, two All-Pro First Team honors and four Super Bowl championships. While he hasn’t made it into the Hall of Fame yet, he’s a finalist to be inducted as part of the Class of 2026.
“L.C. Greenwood is a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 in the Seniors category,” the Steelers announced in a post on X.
While he passed away back in 2013, Greenwood’s Hall of Fame case has seen a revival in recent years. During his peak, Greenwood was one of the most well-rounded defensive linemen in the NFL, and he played a crucial role in helping Pittsburgh’s dynastic run take place during the 1970s.
Greenwood will face some stiff competition when it comes to his quest to get inducted into the Hall of Fame, but his resume is tough to ignore. On the field, Pittsburgh will be looking to find its way back into the win column in Week 14, as a crucial divisional matchup with the Baltimore Ravens looms.
