The Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense hasn’t looked right all season, and T.J. Watt is getting tired of it.
The Steelers’ defense collapsed again during Sunday’s 26-7 home loss to the Buffalo Bills. After yielding just three points to the Bills during the first half, Pittsburgh surrendered 23 points after halftime, turning a close game into a blowout.
The Steelers got shredded on the ground, allowing a whopping 249 rushing yards on 51 rush attempts. They had no answer for Buffalo’s running game and failed to make the necessary adjustments.
Watt, who got hurt late in the game and was filmed shouting on the sideline, went off on Pittsburgh’s defense during his postgame press conference.
“I’ve never seen a team run the same play as much as they ran it tonight and have as much success as they had,” Watt told reporters. “I mean, I’m out of words for it.”

Visibly frustrated, the star defender continued to provide brutally honest answers.
“We’ll have to watch the film, but it was a (butt)-kicking in all areas,” Watt said.

Watt struggled to make an impact in the game, finishing without a sack, QB hit or a tackle for loss. He knows he needs to be better along with the rest of the unit.
“We’ve been having tough conversations. It’s finding a way to just play better,” Watt said. “We need to figure something out, because clearly what’s been going on hasn’t been working effectively…”
The Steelers have had one of the worst defenses in the NFL this year, and they’re running out of time to turn things around. They’ll look to bounce back in Sunday’s pivotal road matchup against the Baltimore Ravens with first place in the AFC North on the line.
