Tristan Jarry Shines For Penguins In Return From Injury

Jarry stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced

The Pittsburgh Penguins entered Thanksgiving on a high note as the team picked up a 4-2 home win over the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday

Pittsburgh started Tristan Jarry in net, who returned from injury after missing the last seven games. Despite not playing since Nov. 3, Jarry was solid against the Sabres, as he stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced.

“That’s what I want,” Jarry said after the game on Wednesday, via NHL.com. “I want to come back seamlessly. The training staff, (goaltending coach Andy Chiodo), the coaches, they all did a great job. When you’re able to integrate back with the team like that, I think it helps a lot. … You want to stay sharp. All the injured guys and the extras, we did a good job.”

Jarry helped the Penguins get back on track as Pittsburgh had lost five of its last six games. With the win, Jarry is now 6-2-0 with a 2.53 GAA and a .914 SV%.

Penguins head coach Dan Muse, meanwhile, knew getting this win was crucial for the team to get back on the right note.

“We’re all in this together,” Muse said. “So, we knew we needed a couple (of) good days of practice. We knew we needed to find a way to get points. I think that’s what you saw there tonight.”

With the win, the Penguins improved to 11-6-5 and are holding onto the final Wild Card spot.
