Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers Ruled Out Week 12 vs. Bears

Mason Rudolph will be under center for the Steelers

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been ruled out for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 12 road game against the Chicago Bears.

Longtime Steelers backup Mason Rudolph will get the start under center, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

“No Aaron Rodgers: Steelers HC Mike Tomlin told @EvanWashburn in a pregame interview that Mason Rudolph will start today vs. Chicago,” ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter posted on X.

Rodgers suffered a fractured left wrist during the second quarter of Pittsburgh’s Week 11 win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Rudolph has played in three games this season, going 14-for-18 with 139 passing yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. Nearly all of his playing time this fall came in relief of Rodgers following the injury, as he went 12-for-16 with 127 passing yards and a touchdown toss to running back Kenneth Gainwell.

The Steelers selected Rudolph in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft and he’s played 24 regular season games with the team, making 13 starts during his career in Pittsburgh. Rudolph spent last season with the Tennessee Titans, playing eight games and making five starts.
