Mike Tomlin Drops Truth Bomb On Jalen Ramsey’s Week 11 Ejection

What did Tomlin have to say about Ramsey's ejection?

The Pittsburgh Steelers got revenge against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, as they picked up a commanding 34-12 win. This game, however, was marred by a controversial incident involving Ja’Marr Chase and Jalen Ramsey, which led to the latter player getting ejected from the game. In a surprising turn of events, though, Mike Tomlin didn’t have much to say about the situation.

Ramsey was ejected after he threw a punch at Chase during a dust-up on the field. Afterwards, Ramsey claimed Chase spit at him, and close-up angles of the encounter proved the veteran defensive back correct. Typically, Tomlin would be irate if one of his players got ejected, but he seemed OK with making an exception for this unique incident involving Ramsey.

“I have no message if someone spits in your face. Do what comes natural,” Tomlin simply said when asked about Ramsey’s reaction to Chase.

While Chase was allowed to finish out the game, he was suspended for one game by the NFL on Monday. In the moment, Ramsey’s reaction to whatever Chase said or did to him was confusing, but getting spat at will often lead to some sort of confrontation taking place.

Ramsey got the short end of the stick in the moment, but he can sit back and laugh at Chase now that he’s netted a suspension. Pittsburgh will look to put this incident in the rearview mirror as soon as possible, as it will be intent on turning its attention to its Week 12 contest with the Chicago Bears.
