The Pittsburgh Steelers did well to get back in the win column in Week 11, as they picked up a 34-12 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon. And yet, it still feels like the team’s offense has left a lot to be desired as we begin to enter the homestretch of the 2025 campaign.
There are a lot of new faces headlining the Steelers’ offense, but 10 games into the season, the unit still lacks any sort of consistency on a week-to-week basis. If you ask team insider Brooke Pryor, she thinks that Pittsburgh could benefit from getting Jaylen Warren more involved moving forward.
“Get running back Jaylen Warren more touches,” Pryor wrote for ESPN. “Increasing Warren’s usage could lead to better (third-down) conversion rates … With his explosive and physical style, Warren is capable of being the Steelers’ most consistent big-play maker, but he has to get more opportunities to make those happen.”
In his first season as the Steelers’ lead running back, Warren has 536 yards and two touchdowns on 123 carries, while also catching 25 passes for 219 yards and another score. And yet, with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith frequently trying to find ways to unlock the passing attack, he frequently finds himself getting underutilized.
Getting Warren more touches, given his efficiency both as a runner and a receiver, would make sense, given the lack of playmakers Pittsburgh has in its passing attack. However, he picked up an ankle injury that forced him out of the team’s win over the Bengals, which means his status will be worth watching over the next couple of days.
