In his third fight in a calendar year, Bo Nickal needed to prove the hype was real. Back in Madison Square Garden, he had the opportunity to make a statement against Rodolfo Vieira.
With a little Sweet Chin Music, Nickal rebounded in spectacular fashion.
Nickal (8-1) knocked Vieira out in the third round, landing a vicious kick to the neck of Vieira. The crowd, attempting to rally him to put on a show, roared with approval. Vieira was down for the count.
When Nickal fought Paul Craig in New York last year, it was a perplexing effort by the wrestler, who barely went to the floor. He won and then earned a massive opportunity against Reinier de Ridder. Nickal lost via TKO, and it wasn’t known what would happen next.
Back in MSG, the former Dan Hodge Trophy winner landed multiple takedowns but still couldn’t find his rhythm. He did cut Vieira’s face multiple times, so he would win via damage. However, something was missing.

That last leg kick was the finishing touch to a long journey. Nickal is now 2-1 in his last three fights.
After the fight, Nickal wanted the fans to make up their minds about whether to boo or cheer him. Up next could be an appearance at the White House.
