Steelers Lose Veteran Wide Receiver To Giants

Pittsburgh's wide receiver depth has taken another hit

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reeling after a tough 25-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10. Making matters even worse, the team was dealt a critical blow when it came to their wide receiver depth on Thursday, as they lost a member of their practice squad to one of his former teams.

That player is Isaiah Hodgins, who had spent the entire 2025 campaign on the Steelers’ practice squad. Hodgins will finally get a shot to suit up this season, as he was signed to the New York Giants’ active roster on Thursday after the team lost Lil’Jordan Humphrey to the Denver Broncos.

“We have signed WR Isaiah Hodgins to the active roster,” the Giants announced in a post on X.

Hodgins spent parts of three seasons with New York from 2022 to 2024. During his time with the team, Hodgins caught 56 passes for 593 yards and seven touchdowns. With the team having a slew of younger playmakers they were looking to develop, though, that resulted in them moving on from the former sixth-round pick.

The Steelers didn’t seem to have any immediate plans to use Hodgins, but he was a solid option to have at their disposal in the event injuries flared up at wide receiver. Now, the front office will have to look for a replacement before the team suits up for its Week 11 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals.
