Mike Tomlin Snaps At Reporter After Steelers’ Frustrating Loss

Tomlin was not pleased with Aaron Rodgers' performance

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered their worst loss of the season to date in Week 10, falling to the Los Angeles Chargers 25-10. Not only was it their biggest margin of defeat this year, but it also happened in front of a national audience on Sunday Night Football.

Several Steelers played poorly, but Aaron Rodgers was particularly bad. He took a safety in the first quarter, putting the Chargers on the board and kicking off a run of 25 straight points for Los Angeles. By the time Rodgers finally answered with his only touchdown pass of the game in the fourth quarter, it was too little, too late.

The former Super Bowl champion struggled mightily against the Chargers’ defense, which kept him off balance for most of the evening. In addition to the safety, he also got picked off twice and took three sacks, finishing with his lowest completion rate (51.6 percent) and passer rating (50.6) of the year.

Mike Tomlin was understandably dissatisfied with Rogers’ poor performance, leading to this tense response during his postgame press conference:

Fortunately for the four-time NFL MVP, he’s in a great spot to bounce back this week at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Not only do the Bengals have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, but he also shredded them for 249 passing yards and four touchdowns — both season-highs — when they met a few weeks ago on Thursday Night Football.
