The Los Angeles Chargers defended their home stadium with a 25-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on “Sunday Night Football.” After the game, their social media department took a shot at their Week 10 opponent.
The Chargers posted a meme on Sunday night that Steelers fans won’t appreciate. Dipper Pines, a fictional character from the Disney animated series “Gravity Falls,” is holding a Terrible Towel with a caption that reads, “This is worthless!”
The Chargers also called out several NFL.com analysts for picking the Steelers over the Chargers, who improved to 7-3 with a statement primetime win.
Los Angeles saddled Aaron Rodgers with his worst game as a Steeler in terms of yards per attempt (5.2) and quarterback rating (50.6). The four-time MVP completed 16 of 31 passes for 161 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions, leading head coach Mike Tomlin to get snippy with a reporter who asked him to appraise the veteran’s performance.

Ke’Shawn Williams surrendered another costly turnover by muffing a punt, giving the Chargers a field goal after a drive that went minus-3 yards. Justin Herbert got sacked five times without star left tackle Joe Alt, but he amassed 220 passing yards and a touchdown at SoFi Stadium.
The primetime victory helped the Chargers keep pace in a highly competitive AFC West. They’re one game behind the Denver Broncos and two ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Meanwhile, the Steelers only have a one-game cushion over the emerging Baltimore Ravens with two head-to-head matchups remaining. They lost momentum after what appeared to be a page-turning Week 9 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Steelers fans warned the Chargers that they cursed their franchise by disrespecting the Terrible Towel. Perhaps that comes to light when they play the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11, but the yellow towels will be out in full force at Acrisure Stadium when the Steelers host the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.
