Joe Flacco is expected to be under center for the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the team’s Pro Bowl signal-caller, Joe Burrow, took a massive step toward his return from injury on Monday.
“QB Joe Burrow will return to practice today in a limited capacity,” the Bengals official account posted on X.
The two-time AP Comeback Player of the Year suffered a toe injury during Cincinnati’s Week 2 win vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars and has missed the team’s last seven games.
Burrow’s 21-day window to be activated from injured reserve was opened on Monday as the Bengals fight to claw their way back into the playoff picture at 3-6.

Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer provided a further update on the former Heisman Trophy winner’s possible timeline for a return to action.
“Last week Joe Burrow told me he’s returning wayyyy sooner than was expected and gave me the timeline of “Thanksgiving-ish.” Now will start practicing on a limited basis. Absolutely unreal attack of rehab and response. At first medical people didn’t believe he’d be back before playoffs,” Glazer posted on X. “Huggggge jump for him! He’s a G!”
The Steelers (5-4) are barely hanging onto a lead in the AFC North over the Baltimore Ravens (4-5), while the Bengals sit two games behind and the Cleveland Browns are three back.
