Aaron Rodgers had a game to forget during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 25-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football, enduring his worst game of the season and one of the worst performances of his career.
Rodgers derailed the Steelers’ early momentum by taking a safety in the first quarter, and things snowballed from there against a tough Chargers defense on the road. He also threw two interceptions and took three sacks, recording his lowest completion rate (51.6 percent) and passer rating (50.6) of the year.
By the time he finally found Roman Wilson in the fourth quarter for Pittsburgh’s only touchdown, it was too little, too late. Los Angeles had scored 25 straight points by that point, putting the game away.
Mike Tomlin was not happy with Rodgers’ performance, snapping at a reporter after the game when asked about it.
The four-time MVP gave a more thoughtful response when discussing his poor performance, giving an honest take on his rough night and taking responsibility for it.

“I expect to play great every single week and this was not my best performance. I’ve gotta play better, whatever it takes,” Rodgers said, stressing the need to bounce back. “It starts with me…I didn’t play very good at all. I’ve gotta play better.”
Fortunately for the former Super Bowl champ, he has a much easier matchup this week at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Not only do the Bengals have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, but he also torched them for 249 passing yards and four touchdowns — both season-highs — when they met last month on Thursday Night Football.
