Aaron Rodgers Gets Brutally Honest On Steelers Loss To Packers

Pittsburgh suffered a 35-25 defeat in Week 8

For the first time in his NFL career, Aaron Rodgers faced off against his former team, the Green Bay Packers, as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t able to take down the Packers, as they handed the Steelers a 35-25 defeat on Sunday Night Football, which marked Pittsburgh’s second-straight loss.

While the Steelers managed to keep things close in the first half, they fell apart in the second half. The defense couldn’t get stops, and the offense couldn’t keep pace with Jordan Love and company. That’s a recipe for disaster when it comes to attempting to win games in the NFL.

There are several big reasons why things did not go Pittsburgh’s way in this game, and it’s going to be important for the team to right the ship heading into Week 9. If you ask Rodgers, he believes that penalties came back to bite the Steelers, which will surely be a point of emphasis for the coaching staff throughout the week.

“We hurt ourselves with penalties,” Rodgers bluntly admitted on Wednesday. “We had opportunities to put ourselves in better situations, and it’s just execution.”

The Steelers are still on top in the AFC North division, but their grip has loosened now that they have lost back-to-back games. Things aren’t going to get any easier for them in Week 9, either, as they have a difficult matchup with the 7-1 Indianapolis Colts on their hands. Kickoff for this big game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
