Jordan Love Earns Award After Historic Performance Vs. Steelers

Love torched Pittsburgh on Sunday Night Football

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered their second-straight loss in Week 8, as the Green Bay Packers handed them a 35-25 defeat. After hanging around for the first half of the game, the Steelers ended up falling apart in the second half, thanks in large part to a historic outing from Packers quarterback Jordan Love.

After a slow start, Love turned up the heat down the stretch, and he ended up turning in arguably the best start of his career. Love completed 29 of his 37 pass attempts for 360 yards and three touchdowns, and at one point, he completed 20 consecutive passes. With Week 8 in the rearview mirror now, Love ended up winning the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award for the week.

“Jordan Love is your NFC Offensive Player of the Week,” Aaron Nagler of Cheesehead TV wrote in a post on X. “Sunday against the Steelers, Love became the first quarterback in NFL history to record 20-consecutive completions, at least 350 yards, at least three touchdown passes and take zero sacks in a single game.”

Despite entering the season with heightened expectations, the Steelers’ defense hasn’t been particularly great through its first seven games of the new year. They will be looking to get back on track in Week 9, but doing so will be easier said than done, as they will be squaring off against the 7-1 Indianapolis Colts, with kickoff for that game scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
