The Pittsburgh Steelers are gearing up for a huge Week 8 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, and unsurprisingly, all eyes are on quarterback Aaron Rodgers ahead of this game. After spending the first 18 years of his career with the Packers, Rodgers will be playing against them for the first time in his career this week.
While Rodgers is still slinging the ball at a high level, even at the ripe old age of 42, the legendary quarterback is known for his accomplishments with the Packers. Rodgers was a 10-time Pro Bowler, four-time First Team All-Pro, four-time MVP, and Super Bowl XLV winner during his time in Green Bay.
After a failed two-year stint with the New York Jets, Rodgers is attempting to go on one last title run with the Steelers before potentially calling it a career. Ahead of his matchup with the Packers, Rodgers has been quite nostalgic throughout the week, and he recently dropped an eye-opening truth bomb when discussing his career.
“This game’s given me a lot, and I love it,” Rodgers said, via Teresa Varley of the team’s official website. “It’s an imperfect profession and a tough business. But it’s a wonderful job that I’ve gotten to do for so long.”
Rodgers has been criticized in recent years for various reasons, but at the end of the day, he’s still in the NFL because of his love of football. And while he’s near the end of his career, Rodgers has proven he still has some gas left in the tank. After a tough loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7, Rodgers will look to lead the Steelers back to the win column in Week 8 against the Packers.
