It’s been over two years since Aaron Rodgers was traded from the Green Bay Packers, but many of his former teammates and coaches are still there. They saw how good he is firsthand and have showered him with praise leading up to their Sunday Night Football showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers this week.
“It’s still pretty impressive what he can do. He can throw with pinpoint accuracy. This guy is extremely accurate. If you give him just a sliver of light, he can fit the ball in there,” said head coach Matt LaFleur, who coached Rodgers during his final four seasons with the Packers.
LaFleur is also grateful for the way Rodgers mentored his eventual successor, Jordan Love, who will start against the Steelers on Sunday.
“I thought he was awesome with him. He did a great job being supportive of him. Trying to give him nuggets all of the time. I think Jordan leaned into that. It was great for both people.”
Love agrees. “Aaron was great. Being in the quarterback room, you want to have a great relationship with everybody in the room. Coming into it, I never knew what to expect, but Aaron was great to me all three years,” he said.

Meanwhile, Green Bay’s defense is preparing to face Rodgers for the first time.
“There’s nothing he hasn’t seen before,” said cornerback Keisean Nixon. “It’s a line up and play ball game. I don’t think disguises will do anything. There is nothing he hasn’t seen.”

Micah Parsons didn’t play with Rodgers, but he did face him when he was with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022.
“I would say don’t let Rodgers get to his spot. When he’s in sync, it’s like poetry,” Parsons said. “Every throw is on the money, everything is in sync. You have to find ways to disrupt the tendencies, disrupt the spot.”
The Packers know they’re facing one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, and they’re treating this matchup accordingly.
