National League Foe Hires Pirates Scouting Director For New Role

Horowitz will have a new job with the Nationals

The Pittsburgh Pirates are reportedly losing Director of Amateur Scouting Justin Horowitz to another National League organization.

Joe Doyle of Over-Slot Baseball first reported on Friday that the Washington Nationals were hiring Horowitz as their new Assistant General Manager.

Doyle added that the move reunites Horowitz with Nationals President of Baseball Operations Paul Toboni.

The latter was hired by Washington in September.

“NEWS: The Washington Nationals are hiring Pittsburgh Pirates Director of Amateur Scouting Justin Horowitz into an Assistant General Manager role,” Doyle posted on X. “Horowitz worked alongside new Nationals President of Baseball Operations Paul Toboni extensively in Boston from 2015 through 2023.”
