Penguins Dominate Canucks With Steelers Stars In Attendance

The Penguins put on a show for the Steelers

The Pittsburgh Penguins continued their strong start to the season on Tuesday night, routing the Vancouver Canucks 5-1 at PPG Paints Arena. The Penguins improved to 5-2 with their third straight win, which featured a season-high five goals.

Conor Garland scored for the Canucks in the game’s second minute, but it was all Pittsburgh after that. The Penguins scored five unanswered goals from five different players the rest of the way, including three in the second period to essentially put the game out of reach.

Arturs Silovs settled in after giving up the early goal, saving 23 of 24 shots on net to improve to 3-1 this year.

Meanwhile, several Pittsburgh Steelers players were in attendance cheering on Pittsburgh, including star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers was wearing a Sidney Crosby jersey, which paid off when Crosby scored his fourth goal of the season.

The four-time NFL MVP was joined by teammates Brett Keisel, Mason McCormick, Zach Frazier, Skylar Thompson, Ryan McCollum, Spencer Anderson and Will Howard.

The first-place Steelers are coming off a rough 33-31 road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football last week. They’re looking to bounce back at home against Rodgers’ former team, the Green Bay Packers, on Sunday Night Football this weekend.

If they succeed, Rodgers will become just the fifth quarterback in NFL history to beat all 32 franchises in the league.
