The Pittsburgh Steelers returned to the practice field on Monday after enjoying their bye week during Week 5. And when they took the field, folks were quick to notice a major change involving star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the helmet he was wearing during the team’s session.
Throughout his career, Rodgers has become known for being very picky when it comes to what helmet he wears. Entering the 2025 season, Rodgers had to find a new helmet after the league banned the Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD helmet that the four-time MVP had worn for the majority of his career due to safety concerns.
Rodgers begrudgingly switched helmets, but he’s been critical of his new model to begin the season, making his disdain for the NFL’s decision known on several occasions. On Monday, Rodgers was seen sporting a new helmet, indicating he could be switching things up in an attempt to find a better fit.
As long as the Steelers keep on winning, the team likely won’t care what helmet Rodgers wears when he takes the field. So far, the 41-year-old quarterback has done a good job at that, as Pittsburgh has a 3-1 record heading into Week 6. Making things even better for them is the fact that the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns all lost their respective games in Week 5.

It’s still early in the season, but the Steelers have the inside track in the AFC North division already, which is a huge boost for their playoff hopes. Pittsburgh will look to continue its winning ways when it takes on the Cleveland Browns in Week 6, with kickoff for this game being scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
