Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett has faced challenges early in his NFL career, but there might be some hope on the horizon.
Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski believes that Pickett could follow in the footsteps of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold, who have revived their careers.
“Pickett originally failed with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being the only quarterback selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft,” Sobleski wrote Saturday. “He’s somewhat limited from a raw arm talent perspective, but the situation in Pittsburgh didn’t help matters with an uninspired offensive scheme and middling skill position weapons.
“Yet three teams have now traded for Pickett in 17 months, because they still see remaining growth potential. He can take what he’s learned from all of his stops and use the knowledge as a way to advance into another starting role.”
After the Steelers traded for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields in March 2024, they sent Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Pickett spent only one season in Philadelphia before the team traded him to the Cleveland Browns in the offseason. A hamstring injury during training camp limited his chances of securing the starting quarterback position, and Cleveland traded him to the Las Vegas Raiders after the preseason.
Pickett will become a free agent this offseason and could find a favorable situation to start. Just because Pickett’s career hasn’t blossomed yet doesn’t mean it won’t;He could become one of the next great quarterback comeback stories the NFL has seen.
