Aaron Rodgers Issues Simple Goal For Steelers In Week 3 Clash Vs. Patriots

Rodgers has one simple goal for Pittsburgh in Week 3

The Pittsburgh Steelers had a lot of hype surrounding them after their big Week 1 victory over the New York Jets, but a lot of that came crashing down in Week 2 after they suffered a 31-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Now, heading into a Week 3 meeting with the New England Patriots, Aaron Rodgers has one goal for the Steelers.

Expectations are high in Pittsburgh, and rightfully so. After an explosive offseason, the team has a pretty sizable amount of talent on its roster, with the hope being that Rodgers could be the missing link that can lead them on a deep playoff run. Through two games, though, the team has turned in some iffy performances.

While the offense has been solid, the defense has struggled, allowing 32 points to the Jets before the Seahawks dropped 31 on them. That’s the opposite of what this team was expected to be, as the defense was believed to be the stronger of the two units entering the year.

Regardless, it’s clear that Pittsburgh could use a nice bounce-back game in Week 3, and the Patriots may be the perfect opponent for them. In Rodgers’ eyes, it’s pretty simple; the easiest way for the Steelers to bounce back from their Week 2 loss is to pick up a win over New England.

“I don’t like getting too binary, but winning,” Rodgers said to reporters when asked how the Steelers can regroup from their first loss of the season. “That’s a good response, but we can’t get attached to the binary system that our league is judged on necessarily because it is a 17-game season, and the process has to be great.”

The Steelers have some issues to fix across the board, but the good news is that the season is still young, meaning there’s a lot of time to figure things out. Winning is the best medicine in sports, but if Rodgers can’t lead Pittsburgh to victory in Week 3, then there could be a real reason for fans to begin panicking.
