Steelers DB’s Injury Timeline Revealed Amid Jabril Peppers News

The 28-year-old finished last season with a career-high 108 tackles

It was reported on Tuesday morning that the Pittsburgh Steelers had agreed to terms with safety Jabril Peppers.

Shortly afterward, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported an injury update on starting safety DeShon Elliott, which appears to be connected to the Peppers news.

“Sources: #Steelers S DeShon Elliott is expected to miss a couple of weeks with an MCL sprain. All things considered, it’s not viewed as a serious injury,” Schultz posted on X. “The goal is to be back for Week 4 vs the Vikings in Ireland. In the meantime, Pittsburgh has signed Jabrill Peppers.”

Elliott finished the team’s Week 1 victory against the New York Jets with six tackles but was limited to 26 defensive snaps and three on special teams.

The 2018 sixth-round pick spent his first four years in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens but missed his entire rookie campaign due to a fractured forearm.

Elliott played the 2022 season with the Detroit Lions and 2023 campaign with the Miami Dolphins, before signing with the Steelers in March 2024.
