The Pittsburgh Steelers revealed their four team captains for the 2025 season on Monday.
Steelers players voted for Aaron Rodgers as their lone captain on offense. The quarterback draws the honor in his first year with the organization alongside three mainstays. T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward and Miles Killebrew are all captains for the fourth straight season.
Rodgers is the fifth different Steelers quarterback to get voted captain in the last five years. Russell Wilson also received the designation upon joining the team last year.
Jaylen Warren has his own news to celebrate after signing a two-year extension on Monday. The running back explained to reporters, per the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat’s Amanda Godsey, why voting for Rodgers was an easy choice.
“The pen was writing Aaron before I could even think what I was going to write,” Warren said. “… He’s a coach and a best friend all in one. You couldn’t ask for more from a quarterback.”

A contract dispute didn’t stop Heyward from getting named captain for the 11th consecutive season. The Steelers noted that the defensive tackle is now tied with guard Sam Davis for the second-most times ever landing the honor behind 13-time captain Ben Roethlisberger.
Another unsurprising selection, Watt will wear the “C” on his jersey for the fifth season. The four-time All-Pro signed a three-year, $123 million extension after tallying 11.5 sacks and six forced fumbles last season.
Killebrew was again named Pittsburgh’s special teams captain following his second straight Pro Bowl campaign. The 32-year-old enters his 10th season — fifth with the Steelers — after recording 13 tackles in 2024.
