Much has been written this year about the Pittsburgh Steelers going all-in on the 2025 season. They’ve added quarterback Aaron Rodgers, wide receiver DK Metcalf, tight end Jonnu Smith and cornerback Jalen Ramsey to create a win-now roster. Could another short-term addition be on the horizon?
Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. said he’s talked with Rodgers about coming to Pittsburgh.
“I love him, we’ve had conversations,” Beckham said in late June on the “Club Random” podcast with Bill Maher, according to CBS Sports. “I won’t say that it’s not a possibility and I won’t say that I haven’t had any communications.”
Teaming up with Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, isn’t the only reason Beckham is feeling Pittsburgh.
“I f—ing love [Mike] Tomlin,” Beckham said, per CBS Sports. “I was actually supposed to be drafted to the Steelers. That was the meeting that I had that I was like, ‘I think I’m going to the Steelers.’ And the Giants ended up taking me at No. 12.”

Beckham, 32, is in the twilight of his career. He’s recorded five 1,000-yard seasons during his 10 years in the NFL, four with the New York Giants and one with the Cleveland Browns.
But his career has been spiraling downward for a while now, with a pair of torn ACLs robbing Beckham of playing time. He picked up a Super Bowl ring with the Los Angeles Rams after the 2021 season. Beckham then rehabbed from a knee injury to join the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.
Last season, Beckham played in nine games for the Miami Dolphins. He had nine catches for 55 yards.
