The Pittsburgh Steelers bolstered their offensive line depth this week by signing veteran Andrus Peat, a versatile lineman with over 100 NFL starts to his name.
“He’s a versatile veteran who can play guard and tackle,” head coach Mike Tomlin said, as quoted by Chris Adamski of TribLive.
Peat was among a flurry of signings by Pittsburgh this week as the team continues to shore up depth ahead of the preseason opener.
The 31-year-old was drafted 13th overall in 2015 and has logged more than 6,000 career snaps between guard and tackle, primarily on the left side. He spent last season in a reserve role with the Las Vegas Raiders after eight years as a starter in New Orleans.
Peat made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2018 through 2020, showcasing both his reliability and flexibility along the offensive line. In 2023, he moved back to tackle after spending much of his career at guard.

His arrival gives the Steelers much-needed insurance behind Broderick Jones, who has taken over at left tackle. Calvin Anderson remains sidelined by injury, and Dylan Cook has yet to appear in a regular-season game. The interior depth includes Spencer Anderson and Max Scharping, but both remain unproven.
Pittsburgh also added quarterback Logan Woodside to the roster following an injury to rookie Will Howard. With Aaron Rodgers not expected to play Saturday in Jacksonville, Woodside could take snaps in the preseason opener.
To make room on the roster, the team waived offensive lineman Nick Broeker and long snapper Tucker Addington.
