Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is not losing sleep over Terry Bradshaw’s criticism — in fact, he is respectfully laughing it off.
After the Hall of Fame quarterback ripped the Steelers for signing Rodgers this offseason, the 41-year-old responded with a blend of sarcasm and sincerity. Rodgers said he “whispers to the gods every single day,” as transcribed by Eric Edholm of NFL.com, a tongue-in-cheek nod to Bradshaw’s mocking comments about his offseason habits.
Bradshaw had called Pittsburgh’s decision to bring in Rodgers “a joke” and scoffed at the idea of signing someone who might only play one season. The longtime Steelers icon suggested Rodgers stay in California and stick to his much publicized spiritual interests instead of suiting up in black and gold.
Rodgers did not take the bait. Instead, he complimented Bradshaw’s career and noted that the criticism likely comes from not knowing him personally. He said public perception has been shaped by things like his darkness retreat and media appearances — not by who he is day to day. He even went a step further and said he would like to get to know Bradshaw better, hinting the two might actually get along if given the chance.
“Maybe we can go chew some bark or whatever the hell he’s talking about,” Rodgers quipped.

The Steelers have struggled to stabilize the quarterback position in the years since Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement. Rodgers was brought in as a short-term fix, not a franchise cornerstone and he knows that. But he also made it clear he is here to contribute and leave the game on his own terms.
If Rodgers delivers in Pittsburgh, Bradshaw’s remarks could come back to bite him — and maybe even end up as the punchline.
