The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the oldest and most successful organizations in NFL history. Their six Super Bowl wins are tied with the New England Patriots for most ever, and they’ve played in more conference championship games (16) than any other NFL team.
The Steelers also haven’t had a losing season since 2003 and are perennial postseason contenders. No wonder players want to play for Pittsburgh.
Jalen Ramsey, who was traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Steelers this offseason, can’t wait to suit up for one of the league’s marquee franchises.
“I’m excited. I’m excited for everything that has to do with this organization. This is a storied franchise,” Ramsey said after arriving at training camp on Wednesday. “Obviously I won a Super Bowl, loved my time with the LA Rams, but I can’t necessarily say that I’ve played for a storied franchise like this yet. So this is very exciting for me. I’m just embracing all of it, really.”

Pittsburgh is Ramsey’s fourth NFL team. He previously played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams and Miami Dolphins, none of whom have had the same level of long-term success as the Steelers.
The fifth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Ramsey has put together a stellar career. The seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro has established himself as one of the top cornerbacks in the league over the past decade, helping the Rams win a Super Bowl during the 2021 season.
The 30-year-old brings an impressive track record to Pittsburgh, where he’ll try to shore up a secondary that allowed the eighth-most passing yards in the NFL last year.
For all of their success, the Steelers haven’t won a playoff game since the 2016 season. They’re hoping that adding established stars like Ramsey to the defense and Aaron Rodgers to the offense will help them stay competitive in the grueling AFC North and get them over the hump this year.
