Takeaways From Penguins 2025-26 Regular Season Schedule

The Pittsburgh Penguins released the team’s full 2025-26 regular season schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

Pittsburgh’s season opener will be part of a six-team season-opening tripleheader on ESPN. The team will start on the road, traveling to Madison Square Garden to face the New York Rangers on Oct. 7. It will be a reunion between the Penguins and former longtime head coach Mike Sullivan.

Two days later, the Penguins will have their home opener on Oct. 9 against the New York Islanders, before taking on the Rangers again on Oct. 11.

They will have an early California trip, traveling to the West Coast to take on the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 14. Pittsburgh will then take on the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks before returning home on Oct. 21 to play the Vancouver Canucks.

The Penguins will return to Stockholm, Sweden, to play two games against the Nashville Predators on Nov. 14 and 16 as part of the NHL Global Series at Avicii Arena. With playing two games against the Predators in Sweden, the Penguins will not take on Nashville at home or away for the rest of the regular season.

The Winter Olympics will take place in February, where NHL players will travel to Milan. Due to the Olympics, the league will shut down for three weeks. The Bruins’ final game before the Olympic break is Feb. 5 against the Buffalo Sabres on the road. The first game back from the break will be Feb. 26 against the New Jersey Devils at home.

Everyone loves to see Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin matchup, so the Penguins and Washington Capitals will play each other three times. Pittsburgh will travel to Washington on Apr. 12 and play at home on Nov. 7 and Apr. 11.
