Konnor Griffin could soon be No. 1

The Pittsburgh Pirates are a bit top heavy, huh?

You can certainly say that for the big league roster! Paul Skenes has an argument to be the best pitcher on the planet, while… well, pretty much everyone else on the team is nowhere near the top of “best at their position” lists.

It’s the same thing down on the farm.

Baseball America released its updated top prospect list on Wednesday, and there were just two representatives to make it for Pittsburgh: Konnor Griffin (No. 2) and Bubba Chandler (No. 10). Termarr Johnson, Hunter Barco, Thomas Harrington, Braxton Ashcraft and Nick Yorke probably had a case to make it, but alas, they did not.

Griffin has long been a favorite of BA, and he likely will be their next top prospect once Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony graduates. Chandler is equally as impressive from the mound, and was the third highest ranked pitcher.
