The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that a limited-edition “Terrible Towel” will drop at 10 a.m. ET on July 1.
How about that?
Myron Cope, the iconic longtime voice of the franchise, invented the iconic rally towel in December of 1975, trying to excite fans before a playoff game in which they’d eventually win on their way to Super Bowl X. Pittsburgh will release the limited run in celebration of the 50th Anniversary.
The Steelers will only sell 5,000, so supplies are limited.
