Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf will face another tough test.
The Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday signed cornerback Jaire Alexander to a modest contract. The two-time Pro Bowler was a free agent after being released by the Green Bay Packers.
The signing made it worth reflecting on Metcalf’s own words from 2022, when he referred to Alexander as one of the defenders who gave him the “most trouble,” per USA Today Sports. Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard also were on Metcalf’s list.
The fact Metcalf named those three, all of whom have since dealt with injury problems, confirms his take to be a few years in the past.
But with the 28-year-old Alexander landing in a strong defensive backfield, he’ll have the opportunity to get back to his peak. And make Metcalf relive some of those NFC battles between the Seahawks and Packers.
