How Much T.J. Watt Could Be Fined For Skipping Steelers Minicamp

Watt reportedly will skip the only mandatory session of the offseason

T.J. Watt might have to give some of it back.

Watt, who is entering the final season on his four-year, $112 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, could have to return some cash if he decides to skip mandatory minicamp this week. It’s been reported Watt does, in fact, intend to skip the only mandatory session of the offseason.

Doing so could cost Watt some $104,768 in fines, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Fines increase with each day missed, as Schefter pointed out.

Watt opting to skip mandatory minicamp is rooted in the fact he’s looking for a new contract from the only NFL team he’s played for. He’s certainly earned it with seven Pro Bowls, four All-Pro honors and one Defensive Player of the Year award.
