How Pirates’ Bailey Falter Ended May In Historic Fashion

Falter tossed another strong outing Saturday

The Pittsburgh Pirates continue to get excellent outings from their starting rotation.

Bailey Falter certainly rose to the occasion in May and closed out the month on a high note against the San Diego Padres. The lefty tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings with just two hits allowed in the shutout win for the Pirates.

Falter improved to 4-3 with a 3.14 ERA in 12 starts, though he put together a historically exceptional month. The Pirates southpaw posted a 0.76 ERA in six starts across 35 2/3 innings. That’s the lowest mark in franchise history since the Live Ball Era began in 1920.

Falter adds to the rotation with Paul Skenes, Andrew Heaney and Mitch Keller with top prospect Bubba Chandler on the way soon.
