Bubba Chandler deserves to be in the big leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The organization’s top prospect continues to dominate hitters with Triple-A Indianapolis and turned in another excellent start Friday night.
Chandler tossed five brilliant innings with just four hits and a walk allowed with eight strikeouts against the Nashville Sounds. The righty reached triple-digits on his fastball six times with 16 swings-and-misses on that pitch.
Chandler now sports a 2.03 ERA on the season with 69 strikeouts in 48 2/3 innings, good for a 12.8 K/9 rate. The Pirates already have plenty of quality in the rotation so far this season, but it’s time to bring the top prospect to Pittsburgh.
