Steelers Super Bowl Champion Has Issue With Aaron Rodgers Situation

Bryant McFadden would feel 'some type of way' if he were in Pittsburgh

Aaron Rodgers might’ve hinted he’ll sign with the Steelers, but the four-time NFL MVP remains a free agent as current Pittsburgh players report for organized team activities this week.

That isn’t sitting well with Bryant McFadden, who played six of his seven NFL seasons in Pittsburgh before he became an NFL analyst. McFadden believes OTAs are a significant part of the offseason, especially for new players who joined the team during the offseason.

“Honestly, I would feel some type of way because this is the first part of structuring a playoff-caliber team right now,” McFadden said while appearing on “CBS Sports HQ” on Monday. “OTAs, now granted, they’re not mandatory, but you are allowed to have as many players there as possible. Especially key components to your team. And we’re talking about the quarterback position, so even if I played on the defensive side of the football field, I would feel some type of way.

“If Cam Heyward is there, if Minkah Fitzpatrick is there, if DK Metcalf is there, Pat Freiermuth is there, we would like our quarterback to be there. And if you’re not going to be there, tell us so the organization can move on.”

McFadden’s sentiments came a few days after Rodgers seemed to indicate he’ll sign with the Steelers. Those within the organization reportedly feel optimistic about landing Rodgers, as well.
