Pittsburgh appears to be the likeliest landing spot for Aaron Rodgers should he play in 2025, but there are a few other teams that make at least some sense for the legendary quarterback.
One of those clubs is the Saints, who saw fellow signal-caller Derek Carr retire a few weeks ago. With the four-time Pro Bowl selection out of the picture, New Orleans now carries a quarterback depth chart that consists of Hunter Dekkers, Jake Haner, Spencer Rattler and 2025 second-round pick Tyler Shough.
Rodgers undoubtedly would be a better option than any of those QBs, and joining the Saints would allow him to play in a winnable division. But in a Q&A session with fans last week, the four-time MVP emphatically ruled out the possibility of taking his talents to the Bayou.
“No. That’s the answer,” Rodgers told fans, per Sports Illustrated. “I’ve played there a couple of times, but the answer is no. I’m too old. I don’t want to live in Louisiana.”
In a separate media appearance, Rodgers revealed a personal issue that has played a hand in the delay of the decision about his football future. However, the Steelers anticipate hearing from the future Pro Football Hall of Fame in the near future.
