Aaron Rodgers came really close to confirming the team that he’ll sign with.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are viewed as the favorite to sign the 41-year-old. It’s not entirely clear why the sides haven’t agreed to a deal nor when a contract could be signed.
However, Rodgers answered questions from fans Friday and dropped a major hint.
“I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year on a road trip,” Rodgers said, per Jack Sperry of Chat Sports.
Does that all but guarantee the Steelers, who play the Bears in Week 12? Unfortunately for Pittsburgh fans, not exactly.

There were early rumors that the Minnesota Vikings were interested in the Super Bowl XLV champion, and Rodgers’ comments could open that door again. Also, the longer Pittsburgh waits, the more opportunity there is for another quarterback-needy team to swoop in. The New Orleans Saints play the Bears in Chicago, and they lost Derek Carr when he announced his retirement.
Still, it’s the closest thing to a concrete update fans got from Rodgers as he continues to enjoy his offseason amid the start of OTAs.
