The Pittsburgh Steelers have no problem waiting things out when it comes to Aaron Rodgers, but time might be running out.
Steelers owner Art Rooney II, who has been outspoken about the fact that the organization will continue to wait for the right time, doubled down on his previous timeline regarding the veteran quarterback when departing owners meetings Thursday, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“A little while longer. I’ll say the same thing,” Rooney said.
Pittsburgh has long been viewed as the ultimate landing spot for Rodgers, who continues to be radio silent regarding his future, choosing to discuss other topics during his seemingly never-ending media appearances. The Steelers likely will want an answer by June 10, as that date marks the beginning of mandatory minicamp.
So, it would appear that “a little while longer” translates to roughly two and a half weeks.
