The Steelers made a pair of offseason trades and altered their wide receiver room, but one NFL insider is questioning if Pittsburgh could make another deal.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer was asked if he could see the Steelers trading for another wideout, after acquiring DK Metcalf from the Seahawks and dealing George Pickens to the Cowboys.
“I think it’s on the radar, but there are caveats,” Breer wrote in a column published Wednesday.
A potential trade partner for the Steelers, especially if Pittsburgh is underwhelmed by its younger receivers Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson this spring, could be the Packers. Green Bay, as Breer noted, drafted a pair of wideouts in Matthew Golden and Savion Williams and brings back a group including Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks and Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson.
“It feels like the Packers could move at least one before the season,” Breer wrote.

Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers landing in the Steel City is another reason why Breer believes those players, specifically Doubs, could make sense.
“And Doubs and Watson were around Aaron Rodgers as rookies. Rodgers spoke highly of Doubs back then. So if you put the pieces together, maybe there’s a match.”
The 25-year-old Doubs, who enters his final season under contract, has caught 147 passes for 1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns in 43 career games.
