The Pittsburgh Steelers revealed their 2025 season schedule on Wednesday night, and it came with one issue from Steelers owner Art Rooney II.
Rooney explained that he’s not a fan of the timing of Pittsburgh’s Week 10 contest, which will see the Steelers face the Los Angeles Chargers on the road on Sunday Night Football.
“I just look to see where the night games are and the far trips,” Rooney said, per team-provided video. “It fell alright. I think the only complaint I have is a night game on the West Coast is always something I prefer to avoid, and we got one of those this year, so these things happen.”
The Steelers will have a quick turnaround after that matchup with the Chargers as they host the division rival Cincinatti Bengals in Week 11.
The trip out to the West Coast for the Steelers is one of four primetime games for them this season. They also have what Rooney called their “headline” game in Week 4 when they travel to Ireland to face the Minnesota Vikings followed by an early bye week.

“Let’s say this, we didn’t ask for the bye after the Ireland game,” Rooney said, per Bob Labriola of Steelers.com. “The league has in the past, kind of tended to try to give teams their bye following an International Game. I don’t think that’s the rule anymore, but you know it’s not a bad way to do it. It is a long trip, and so it doesn’t hurt to have the bye coming after that.”
