Alleged comments from George Pickens went viral after the star wide receiver was traded by the Steelers to the Cowboys, but the 24-year-old claimed the remarks weren’t legitimate.
Heaps of fans reacted to a supposed Instagram comment from Pickens, where the talented pass-catcher called Pittsburgh “the cheapest organization.” The screenshot of the reply gained enough attention that the 2022 second-round pick addressed the situation on his Instagram story.
“Literally on a plane. No service. Just landed and seen straight lies from Pitt fans,” Pickens captioned the post. “Stop with the AI trying to make a story. I’m happy for everything that the steel city did for me.”
As for formal commentary, Pickens told reporters he was happy to be in Dallas when he spoke publicly about the trade for the first time. It could prove to be a beneficial situation for the Georgia product, who now will catch passes from Dak Prescott after leaving a Steelers team that has major question marks hovering over its quarterback situation.
Pickens’ first game with America’s Team will be in primetime, as the NFL on Monday revealed the Cowboys will be in Philadelphia on Sept. 4 for the league’s regular-season opener.
