The Steelers were close to finalizing a George Pickens trade Wednesday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys were nearing a deal for George Pickens. FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz reported that Dallas planned on sending a third-round pick to Pittsburgh, and the deal includes a Day 3 pick swap.
Pickens was the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason since he is in the final year of his rookie contract. The Steelers’ trade for DK Metcalf didn’t rule out Pickens’ future in Pittsburgh, but uncertainty at quarterback didn’t quell the rumor mill.
Pickens caught 174 passes for 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns in his three-year career with the Steelers.
