Paul Skenes leads an emerging Pirates rotation and another top arm could make his way to Pittsburgh soon.
Chandler is now 5-0 with a 1.96 ERA in 12 career starts for Triple-A Indianapolis. He’s rung up 27 strikeouts in just over 20 innings with just six walks on the season. The top prospect in the Pirates system consistently showed why he’s deserving of a MLB call-up and he certainly has the endorsement of the big-league ace in Pittsburgh.
“He’s my buddy,” Skenes said, per MLB.com’s Alex Stumpf. “Looking forward to being with him every day, whenever that is. He’s going to bring a lot to the staff, I’m fired up to see that. I’m excited.”
Chandler’s stuff certainly plays and he should take the ball at PNC Park soon.
