Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin’s Son Receives Rookie Tryout

Dino Tomlin is headed to Tampa Bay

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin could soon be rooting for (one singular person on) another team.

Boston College wide receiver Dino Tomlin received an invite to rookie minicamp from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to WTAE’s Ashley Liotus.

Mike Tomlin has a soft spot in his heart for Tampa Bay, as he was the organization’s defensive backs coach under Tony Dungy (2001) and Jon Gruden (2002 to 2005) — winning Super Bowl XXXVII over the Oakland Raiders in 2002.

Dino Tomlin never quite turned into a collegiate superstar, catching 37 passes for 498 yards across six seasons split between Maryland and Boston College. Tomlin did have a nice pro day, however, running a 4.45-second 40-yard dash while logging a 38-inch vertical jump and measuring in at 5-foot-11, 183 pounds.
